Boat tours are one of the most popular activities for tourists visiting Los Cabos, but the weather can and does affect whether or not they’re available when you visit the destination.
For the last several weeks the conditions have not been great for tour operators, leading to the cancellation of tours on several occasions.
If you’ll be visiting the destination anytime soon, take a look at these top five land tours to take, as boat tours in Los Cabos have been temporarily restricted due to large waves.
ATV Tour, Camel Ride, Tequila Tasting And Mexican Buffet Lunch – $135
Available at five different times throughout the day, this 3-hour tour offers a little bit of everything.
You get to ride an ATV through the desert and a camel on the beach, sample tequila, and enjoy an all-you-can-eat Mexican buffet at a restaurant overlooking the ocean.
To top it off, it includes hotel pickup and drop-off.
Outdoor Ziplining And UTV Adventure From Los Cabos – $99
If you’re really looking for an adventure, this 6-hour tour, offered twice a day, includes both zip lining over canyons in a UNESCO-protected national park and a UTV ride through the desert.
Lunch is included in the price and bottled water and all gear are included as well.
Hotel pickup and drop-off are provided.
Cabo White Sand Horseback Riding Tour And Tequila Tasting – $85
Just because you can’t get out on the water doesn’t mean you can look at it and take in the scenery, and that is exactly what this 2-hour tour that is offered four times a day is for.
After being picked up from your hotel you’ll get to ride along the beach on horseback on a guided tour while taking in the ocean views.
Before heading back, you’ll be treated to a complimentary tequila tasting.
Cabo San Lucas Downtown Food And Tacos Tasting Experience – $85
What better way to get to know a destination than to immerse yourself in their culture? One of the best ways to do that is through food.
This 3-hour food and taco tasting experience in Cabo San Lucas, offered multiple times a day, is the perfect opportunity to do that.
You’ll try tacos and other classic street food, plus enjoy tequila tastings along the way while exploring downtown Cabo.
This tour does not include hotel transportation.
Cabo San Lucas And San Jose Del Cabo Sightseeing Tour – $95/$120
A visit to Los Cabos isn’t complete without tours of both Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, and this 5-hour tour provides you with both, plus some extras.
Your guide will take you around to all of the important landmarks in both towns, and if marine conditions allow you’ll take a glass bottom boat ride to the Arch too.
The tour, which departs at 9 a.m., is $95 without lunch, and $120 with a traditional Mexican lunch added, and hotel transportation is included in both options.
Some Los Cabos Beaches Closed As Well
Just as the weather is causing dangerous boating conditions, it’s affecting some beaches as well.
It’s important to look for beach warning flags, as several currently have red flags posted, which indicate unsafe water conditions.
Both Chileno and Palmilla beaches, as well as others along the Tourist Corridor, and Lover’s Beach, are among those currently affected.
Other Things To Do In Los Cabos When The Beaches And Marinas Are Closed
Los Cabos is known for its water activities, but there are other things to do.
San Jose del Cabo is filled with art galleries to explore, and the nearby town of Todos Santos is a great place to spend the day when water activities are not an option.
If you’re staying at an all-inclusive, there will likely be plenty of activities to enjoy as well, so with or without water activities, you can still have an amazing, fun-filled Los Cabos vacation.
