Fewer Tourists in the Centro

According to a recent published report on the issue, the winter travel season that closed out 2023 was a complete washout for the nightclubs and bars in the centro of Cabo San Lucas.

Numbers from the business owners association showed that fewer tourists enjoyed the nightlife in the area in the last quarter of 2023 when sales dropped 20 percent.

The number of travelers heading to enjoy nightlife in the centro of Cabo San Lucas did not improve in the first quarter of 2024. In fact, it got even worse.

Sadly this year will be our last in Cabo San Lucas. We have been going to Cabo for many years and have been present to see its decline. The Centro area is dirty and falling apart. When you are paying high prices for everything from rooms to food it is hard to accept the overall decay of the area you are supposed to be enjoying. While we will always have a piece of Cabo in our hearts, we will find another place to spend our hard earned money.

Hopefully you pass these comments on to all the businesses before its too late! They are all saying the one thing and it's not about image its prices. Everything is way too expensive from souvenirs to drinks to restaurants.

High prices, loud music and most of the resorts have extremely high prices for everything so most of their guests are choosing AI and then they are reluctant to spend their money elsewhere.

The massive price increase is turning people away. I have been a snowbird resident in San Jose for 12 years. We rarely go out for dinner and drinks anymore because it is too costly. We can purchase a bottle of vodka for the same price as one drink at some restaurants and bars

I can't believe I read all the comments focusing on prices and kids selling but no one points out the obvious... Cabo San Lucas is the raunchy proliferation of strip clubs, dark discotheque of load music and other institutions for drunkenness and drugs. I've been doing CSL for 30yrs and it was much more fun when Giggling Marlin or Cabo Wabo was as seedy as it got. CSL need only look to San Jose art walk for a better image. CSL has the seeds with many more fine dining and luxury hotels and homes, but the downward spiral toward filthy establishments and away from family-safe sidewalks is sad to see.
