Two Los Cabos resorts managed to get first and second place on the recently published U.S. News 2024 Best Hotel Mexico list.
This is not too surprising, considering that in recent years, this Mexican municipality has developed a reputation for being one of the best spots for luxury tourism in the country.
But which hotels made the list? And, most importantly, why?
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
The Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal was ranked by U.S. News as the best 2024 hotel in Mexico.
This property is located on 24 acres of beach in the tourist city of Cabo San Lucas, situated in the southern area of the state of Baja California Sur. U.S. News decided to give this property first place due to the ‘special touches’ characterizing this resort.
For instance, upon arrival, guests are greeted with a bottle of high-quality tequila so that they can immediately immerse themselves in Mexican culture.
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal is an incredibly luxurious resort and even standard rooms here feature state-of-the-art amenities, such as a terrace with an ocean view, a plunge pool, a gas fireplace, and a marble bathroom equipped with a rainfall shower as well as a separate bathtub.
This resort is also renowned for its four pools, unique spa, and fitness center.
Of course, guests at Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal will also be able to choose among a vast variety of fine-dining restaurants, such as the Don Manuel’s, offering a seasonal menu to its clients, or the more casual Beach Club, perfect for quick a meal before an intense outdoorsy day.
Grand Velas Los Cabos
The renowned Grand Velas Los Cabos was awarded second place by U.S. News. This pluri-awarded resort is regularly ranked among the best in the country and every year, thousands of tourists book a room here to elevate their Los Cabos vacation.
Located 35 minutes southwest of Los Cabos International Airport, the Grand Velas Los Cabos features rooms equipped with Nespresso coffee makers, welcome bottles of local mezcal, bathrooms equipped with jacuzzi, and breathtaking ocean views.
This resort is also the perfect place for foodies, as it features seven restaurants serving local foods and other unique recipes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine.
Grand Velas Los Cabos is also home to three-tiered infinity pools, a fitness center where tourists can keep in shape during their vacation, a holistic spa, as well as a kids and teens club where adults can leave their children to enjoy some well-deserved quality time together.
A few resorts are coming to Los Cabos soon
Guests who have already visited these resorts may now be curious to know whether new properties will soon open their doors to Los Cabos tourists. The answer is yes! One of the most exciting 2024 Los Cabos openings is the Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol.
This property will be located on two miles of breathtaking beachfront overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol will be home to 163 rooms as well as 19 luxurious villas.
Guests booking a night here will also get full access to several indoor pools, a wellness and fitness center, as well as a spa where to relax and let go of all the stress accumulated throughout the year.
Another property that will soon open its doors to the public is the Four Seasons Resort and Residences.
This resort will also be located in the Cabo del Sol development and will feature a state-of-the-art spa with ten treatment rooms as well as a fitness center overseen by Oprah’s favorite couch, Harley Pasternak.
Both resorts should open their doors to the public in 2024, but the exact dates still need to be announced. However, with a bit of luck, tourists heading to Los Cabos this year may get the chance to be among the very first guests of these two unique properties.
