All kinds of dangers are present at the beach that can cause accidents and injury if you’re not careful, and this is true for Los Cabos beaches too.   

Fortunately, lifeguards are trained to deal with accidents and injuries quickly, to minimize the severity of issues that arise.   

And Los Cabos takes the safety of tourists very seriously, which is why they are deploying more lifeguards to keep tourists safe on the beaches this summer.

There are well over 20 beaches in and around Los Cabos, each with a little bit of a different atmosphere.   

The beaches of Los Cabos are spread out between three different areas, including Cabo San Lucas, San Jose del Cabo, and the Tourist Corridor, a stretch of land between the two cities.

In San Jose del Cabo there are not really any good swimming beaches right in town, but there are a few beaches great for a nice beach walk, such as Playa Hotelera.

Safety Issues On Los Cabos Beaches 

The biggest safety issue to watch out for in Los Cabos is knowing which beaches are safe for swimming because many of them are not.   

This is due to the fact that strong waves and unpredictable currents are common characteristics of many of the beaches in the region.   

As with most ocean water beaches, dangerous marine life is also present at times.

Los Cabos Beaches With The Most Lifeguards 

Not every beach in Los Cabos is going to have a lifeguard on duty, but the main tourist beaches typically do.   

Medano Beach being the most popular, you can expect to find the most lifeguards on duty here, as well as monitoring by security officials.   

So Medano Beach is one of the safest beaches in Los Cabos to spend a day.

How To Protect Yourself On Los Cabos Beaches 

In addition to not ignoring the warning flags that you see on Los Cabos beaches, it’s important to be aware of your surroundings too.   

Watch to see if other people are swimming, check for lifeguards, be cautious of strangers, protect your belongings, stay hydrated, and avoid too much sun.

Current Lifeguard Situation In Los Cabos 

Los Cabos beaches were recently without lifeguards for a few days because they took three days to initiate the training of new candidates.   

Around 120 people were a part of the recent seminar on aquatic rescue and serving as a lifeguard.   

This is the 29th edition of the event, which aims to get people interested in protecting citizens and tourists on the beaches of Los Cabos.

Last year more than 4 million travelers visited the Los Cabos region, and this year is already off to a great start.   

The popularity of the vacation destination requires a constant effort to keep up with protecting the population, both visiting and permanent.
