Taxis may be one of the most used forms of transportation for tourists visiting Los Cabos to get to their hotel, but it might not be the best option.   

Prices for taxis from the airport are exorbitantly high (up to $100 each way) and can vary from one driver to the next due to the lack of regulations and taxi meters.   

There is also private transportation available, which can be pricey, but staying at one of five luxurious Los Cabos resorts that offer free airport transfers will allow travelers to avoid sky-high taxi prices.   

Airport Transfers Offered By Los Cabos Resorts 

Some resorts in Los Cabos offer transportation to and from the airport in San Jose del Cabo.   

The airport is about 8 miles from the actual town of San Jose del Cabo and even further from Cabo San Lucas, approximately 27 miles, so free transfers can save you a little money on transportation costs.   

Some resorts do charge for this service, but these five luxury resorts offer it for free.

Once you exit from immigration at the airport, you’ll be directed to the taxi stations to purchase a one way ticket to your hotel with a shared shuttle. I prepaid for my ride online ($18) and presented my confirmation email. It was well organized and I was promptly met by the next available driver that led me to the shuttle. The shuttle van was clean, safe and modern. I consider this the scenic option, because depending on the location of your hotel and number of stops, it does take a bit longer than hiring a private transfer. The all-inclusive service includes a daily restocked mini-bar with limited beverages, dining at a few different great restaurants, and unlimited beverages.

Getting Around Los Cabos For The Rest Of Your Vacation 

Typically, Los Cabos resorts don’t offer any other ground transportation, so you’ll have to book it yourself for excursions.   

Private transportation is the most comfortable but can be pricey depending on where you’re going.
