Los Cabos had a record-breaking year for tourism last year, and all indications point to this year being even better than last.

The luxury vacation destination is popular among celebrities, adventure seekers, beach lovers, water activity enthusiasts, and more.

Los Cabos is so popular that more than 1.6 million international tourists have already visited the destination this year, and there are four reasons why Los Cabos’ visitor count will likely double by the end of the year.

Late Fall Visitors Taking Advantage Of Lower Rates

While typically fall is considered the slow season, Los Cabos still sees a significant amount of visitors during this time, particularly in late fall.

During these slower months, rates tend to go down a bit, and since the fall weather in Los Cabos is nearly perfect, many travelers take advantage of these lower rates.

To be sure, fall doesn’t bring in as many visitors as the winter, but occupancy rates still remain steady.

Americans Vacationing In Los Cabos This Winter

The winter time is when you’ll really start to see visitor numbers increase because this is when Americans escaping the cold northern winters visit Los Cabos.

As of June of this year, 90 percent of foreign tourists who had visited Los Cabos were American.

So, one can only imagine how many American tourists will visit the destination this winter and how much that will increase the overall number of visitors.

Amazing Los Cabos Winter Activities

The winter season is a great time to enjoy outdoor activities in Los Cabos, and Cabo-loving tourists know this.

The beginning of the whale watching season, the milder temperatures that are better for hiking, and the various holiday celebrations are all major attractions for foreign visitors.

This is why more than a million Americans alone have already booked fall and winter Los Cabos vacations.

Holiday Breaks Giving Travelers Time Off

Another reason visitor numbers in Los Cabos can be expected to double before the end of the year is the fact that many travelers get time off for holidays.

For many, this makes it the perfect time to travel, especially families with children who are out of school and travelers who can extend their vacations beyond the holiday by working remotely.

There really is no other time of year that travelers get as much time off as during the fall and winter seasons.

The Flights Frequency Increase Factor

One indication that the winter months are some of the busiest in Los Cabos is the increase in flight frequency during the season.

Direct flights are currently available from 28 different U.S. cities and 10 Canadian cities.

From some of these cities, there are more than 100 direct flights to the destination every month, and during the winter, flight frequencies typically increase.

Los Cabos Visitor Numbers Last Year

Los Cabos broke its all-time visitor record last year, welcoming more than 7 million tourists throughout the year.

Direct flights were available from 20 U.S. cities at the height of the busiest tourism season, 8 less than what is currently available.

The increase in flight availability will no doubt contribute to those visitor numbers doubling and possibly making this another record-breaking year for Los Cabos.

Los Cabos’ Future

Los Cabos’ popularity continues to grow as the destination has more and more to offer.

New hotels are being built, more airlines are adding Los Cabos routes to their list of offerings, and flight frequencies continue to increase.

All of these factors indicate that the momentum of Los Cabos’ growth doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down any time soon.
