3 Ways To Save As Los Cabos Room Rates Begin To Rise Next Month

When it comes to comparing Mexican vacation destinations, Los Cabos is one of the most popular, but it’s also one of the most expensive as well.

Hotel rates fluctuate depending on the time of year and several other factors, but it’s not uncommon for rates to average around $500 a night.

Currently, they are much lower, averaging about $400 a night, but they’ll start to go up next month as high season approaches, so here are five ways to save as Los Cabos room rates begin to rise.

Book An All-Inclusive

It might not seem like going for the pricier option when choosing a hotel is the way to save, but booking an all-inclusive room cuts down on other costs.

All the food and drink you could ever want, activities, and entertainment are typically included, aside from some upcharges, which is a discussion for later.

The best thing is, that most of the all-inclusives in Los Cabos offer a lot better food and beverage quality than in some vacation destinations.

Compare Room Rates

You can’t get the best price for something if you don’t look around for it.

The same goes for hotels, so it’s important to compare rates, at least between a few different hotels.

If you choose a few that are similar in class, then you can base your decision on which one has the best rates.

Watch Out For Hidden Fees

As briefly mentioned earlier, sometimes there are upcharges at hotels that you might not know about until you get there.

One of the most common ones is having to pay for parking, which you won’t have to worry about unless you’re renting a car.

Another one is resort fees, which are an extra fee some hotels charge for the use of certain amenities like the fitness center and Wi-Fi.

In the case of all-inclusives, you may get there and realize that the better restaurants aren’t included.

Try to find out about these upcharges beforehand so that you know what to expect.

Make The Weekdays The New Weekend

Most people travel on the weekends and a couple of days around the weekend because Saturday and Sunday are typically free days off for those who work 9-5 jobs.

If you have a more flexible schedule or some extra vacation days, this can benefit you.

You can use your weekend days for personal time and travel on the weekdays, and hotels and traveling in general are often less expensive during the week.

Read Reviews

Reading reviews may seem like an unusual suggestion for saving money on a hotel, but it provides one benefit in particular that can help.

Reviews tell a lot about the value you get for your money, particularly at all-inclusives.

It’s important to look at both positive and negative reviews, as well as responses from hotel staff, to get a full picture of what amenities are actually available and how good the all-inclusive service is.

How To Save On Airport Transportation

Getting to and from the airport in Los Cabos is expensive too, not just the hotel rates.

There isn’t much you can do about taxi rates, but you can book a shuttle or private transportation in advance.

More often than not you’ll pay less thanks to your early planning, and if nothing else, you’ll know what you’re paying and won’t have any surprises upon arrival.

Booking Ahead Vs. Booking Last Minute

There is an ongoing argument regarding which is better, booking ahead, or waiting until the last minute.

The fact is, the answer to that changes depending on factors like when you travel, and how in demand the destination is.

If you do have the freedom to book last minute you can likely save some money, but it isn’t wise to wait if it’s the destination’s busy season.

You do have the option of booking a hotel early and then canceling if you do find a better deal.
