Travelers to Los Cabos have a new connecting city to the west coast to choose from as one of the top rated airlines in the country announced new service to the beach resort destination starting on December 15.
Viva Las Vegas
Starting in the middle of December, the fifth largest airline in North America, Alaska Airlines, will feature seasonal connections to Los Cabos through Las Vegas a total of four times per week.
This is in addition to connecting flights from Sin City to Puerto Vallarta starting on December 14. The Puerto Vallarta flights will also be seasonal and are scheduled four times per week.
According to published reports about the new service, visitors heading to Los Cabos direct from Las Vegas will be able to book those flights starting at $139 one-way.
This is the first non-stop flight between Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and the Los Cabos International Airport.
Second Best Airline in the Nation
According to a recent report issued by the United States Department of Transportation, Alaska Airlines ranked second in the country based on timely arrivals and generous luggage allowances, which contributed to reliable services.
The overall on-time arrival ratio through the 87 airports surveyed for the report was 77.3%. When combined with the results from their codeshare partners, the on-time arrival rate jumped to 86.7%.
For the first checked-in bag, Alaska Airlines charges $30 on domestic routes for luggage up to 50 pounds and $40 for an additional bag. The third bag is a rather steep $100.
However, the baggage cost for international flights to Los Cabos vary by the departure location.

West Coast Flight Pass
The connection flight through Las Vegas opens new opportunities for holders of the Alaska Airlines West Coast Flight Pass.
With the pass, Alaska Airlines passengers can purchase a number of flights for one fixed monthly charge.
For example, passengers can purchase one round-trip flight every two months for a year for the low price of only $49 per month.
For that price, passengers can access any flight between 15 destinations in California, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah with no blackout dates. However, flights do need to be booked at least 14-days in advance.
The West Coast Flight Pass could cover the cost of getting to Las Vegas to make the connection to a vacation in Los Cabos. The Los Cabos ticket would not be covered as part of the flight pass program.
