New Carnival Cruise To Offer Two-Day Stayover In Los Cabos

Millions of tourists visited Los Cabos in 2022, and millions are expected to visit this year as well, as the destination’s popularity continues to skyrocket among foreign travelers. 

Most of these tourists come from the United States and Canada, and they arrive in one of two ways, either by airplane, because Los Cabos is highly connected to U.S. and Canadian airports, or by cruise, as Los Cabos is a popular stop for many cruise lines. 

Typically these stops will allow cruise passengers to explore Los Cabos for a day, but a new Carnival Cruise is stepping it up a notch and is going to offer a two-day stayover in Los Cabos. 

Carnival’s New Cruise Ship 

The new cruises that are set to begin next year will be aboard a new ship that the company recently gained from a sister company, Costa Cruises. 

The Carnival Firenze has a guest capacity of more than 4,000, a crew of over 1,400, 14 decks, and is over 1,000 feet in length. 

There is a mini golf course, multiple pools, a theater, sports courts, a casino, and numerous dining options for cruise guests to enjoy.

Location, Timeframe, Availability 

The Carnival Firenze’s home cruise port will be located in Long Beach, California, until at least April 2025, starting in May 2024. 

A number of different itineraries are being offered, ranging from 3-7 days, with a number of them sailing to Los Cabos and one even offering two days in Cabo San Lucas. 

Booking is already open, so travelers can book their Mexico/Los Cabos cruises aboard this new ship now.

The New Cruise Options 

Four of the new cruises aboard the Carnival Firenze that are available right now will stop in Los Cabos.  They include: 

• 5-Day Mexican Riviera Cruise – Stops in Cabo San Lucas on day 3 from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. 
• 7-Day Mexican Riviera Cruise – Stops in Cabo San Lucas on day 6 from 6:30 am – 2:30 pm.   
• 5-Day Mexican Riviera Cruise – Stops in Cabo San Lucas on day 4 from 7:00 am – 2:30 pm. 
• 6-Day Mexican Riviera Cruise – Stops in Cabo San Lucas on day 3 at 10:00 am and departs at 6:00 pm on day 4.

Carnival Firenze Prices 

As with anything related to travel, prices always vary depending on dates, booking timeframe, upgrades, and about a million other things. 

So, although you can never know the true cost of your cruise until you go to book it, the Carnival website does list starting prices for the new cruises. 

The prices for the cruises with stops in Cabo San Lucas have a starting price range of between $221 and $466 per night per guest.

Cruise Ship Theme 

The new Carnival Firenze will be Italian-themed but with the fun “Carnival Cruises” atmosphere. 

Carnival Cruise Line president, Christine Duffy, commented on the new cruise ship, stating that “Carnival Firenze is named after the spectacular city of Florence, Italy. She was designed to evoke the same charm and beauty found in Florence.” 

She further commented that “This truly stunning ship will serve as a great new cruise vacation option from Long Beach, joining Carnival Panorama and Radiance and offering a range of sailing lengths to Baja Mexico and the Mexican Riviera.

What To On Your Cruise Stop In Cabo San Lucas 

There is so much to do in Los Cabos and so little time to do it, although the two-day stopover does give you a little more time to explore.
