Missing the San José Art Walk? We at The Cabo Sun know it wrapped up for the season in late June.
If you’re not familiar, every Thursday evening from November to June is your chance to wander Alvaro Obregón’s cobblestones, sip complimentary wine, and catch live music under the stars. Sounds great right?
Dont want to wait? Don’t worry: art lovers have a fresh destination to satisfy that creative craving.
On July 12, Marina de Cabo San Lucas welcomed MINCH Gallery—a vibrant new refuge for contemporary art at The Place at Cabo—led by France-born, Cabo-resident artist François Paris.

The San José Art Walk: A Cultural Staple
From November through June, art aficionados and curious travelers flock every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM to San José del Cabo’s Gallery District.
Streets around the historic church close to traffic, transforming into an open-air museum where you can browse dozens of galleries featuring everything from contemporary paintings and intricate sculptures to traditional Mexican folk art, handmade jewelry, and stunning photography—all free of charge.
Many hosts also pour complimentary wine, tequila, or light bites, while street musicians weave a soundtrack of mariachi, jazz, and world beats through the blocks.
Your New Art Refuge in Cabo San Lucas
MINCH Gallery is reinvigorating a corner of Cabo San Lucas that sat quiet for decades. Part of The Place at Cabo complex—revitalized since 2022—this new space was inaugurated by François Paris himself, who envisions it as a “vibrant refuge” where color, symbolism, and spontaneous forms invite your own interpretation.
The inaugural exhibition showcases Paris’s recent works—abstract characters and free-flowing shapes inspired directly by Baja’s landscapes—offering a fresh, immersive perspective on contemporary creativity.
Why MINCH Gallery is worth a visit:
- Immersive Symbolism: Dive into Paris’s bold, color-soaked canvases that spark introspection.
- Artist-Led Experience: Engage directly with curated shows and occasional “artist in attendance” evenings.
- Marina Backdrop: Pair your gallery visit with a leisurely waterfront stroll in one of Cabo’s most scenic marinas.
- Dynamic Programming: Expect pop-up talks, workshops, and community art meet-ups.
- Everyday Inspiration: A creative oasis designed to weave art into your daily Cabo lifestyle.
Beyond MINCH: Exploring Los Cabos’ Year-Round Art Scene
While the San José Art Walk pauses for summer, Los Cabos’ art heartbeat continues all year. In San José del Cabo, the historic Gallery District remains a cultural epicenter, home to high-end galleries displaying original paintings, sculptures, photography, prints, and jewelry by local, Mexican, and international contemporary artists.
Hotspots like Frank Arnold Studio and Galería de Ida Victoria host monthly showcases and artist soirées that keep the peninsula buzzing with creative energy.
Just a scenic 45-minute drive north, the Pueblo Mágico of Todos Santos offers around a dozen galleries set within its Spanish Colonial streets—an art haven born from its mining-town roots and fueled by local artisans and visiting talents alike. From folk-art workshops to mural projects and intimate exhibition spaces, this colorful town extends your artistic journey beyond the Cabo corridor.
