Hyatt Will Bring Another New Luxury Resort To Los Cabos In 2026

Share The Article

Happy New Year, travelers! We at The Cabo Sun are officially welcoming 2026, and if you thought the hotel boom in Baja California Sur was slowing down, think again.

Just as we’ve finished popping the champagne for the long-awaited arrival of the Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol (which finally opened its doors last month), we are already looking ahead to the next major headline in luxury hospitality.

This year, Hyatt is doubling down on the region with the anticipated opening of the Grand Hyatt Los Cabos.

While the Park Hyatt has been grabbing all the recent headlines with its ultra-luxury debut, the Grand Hyatt is shaping up to be a massive addition to the Pacific side of the peninsula. If you are planning your vacation calendar for late 2026, here is everything you need to know about this new property.

A New Anchor for the Pacific Coast

The new resort is situated within the OLEADA Pacific Living & Golf private resort community. For those of you familiar with the geography, this is a prime spot located just 15 minutes west of downtown Cabo San Lucas and about 30 minutes from the Los Cabos International Airport.

We know that safety in Los Cabos and easy accessibility are top priorities for our readers, and this location offers a perfect balance. You are close enough to the marina for a dinner out but secluded enough to enjoy the rugged beauty of the Pacific coastline without the crowds.

The property itself is designed by SB Architects and is set to feature 300 guest rooms. But it’s the surroundings that really set the stage here. The resort sits on 1,200 acres of “bold luxury,” which includes a garden dedicated to growing fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables for the property’s restaurants.

World-Class Golf by Ernie Els

One of the biggest draws for the new Grand Hyatt will undoubtedly be the golf. The resort will feature a world-class 18-hole golf course designed by Hall of Famer Ernie Els.

Golf has always been a major driver for tourism here, and with new luxury openings continuing to raise the bar, having a course of this caliber attached to the hotel is a significant win.

The course is designed to blend into the desert landscape, offering those dramatic ocean views that Cabo golf is famous for.

Expanding the Hyatt Footprint

This opening is part of a larger collaboration between Hyatt and Parks Hospitality Holdings (PHH) that was first announced back in 2023. It’s fascinating to see how their vision has come to life.

“Our intentional growth strategy for our portfolio in Mexico is driven by strong relationships with owners like Parks Hospitality Holdings who are helping expand Hyatt’s brand footprint across markets that matter most to our guests,” said Camilo Bolaños, senior vice president of development for Latin America & the Caribbean at Hyatt, regarding the collaboration.

While the Grand Hyatt Los Cabos is the star of the show for us this year, the partnership has also been busy across Mexico, including the development of the Park Hyatt Cancun and the Grand Hyatt Mexico Santa Fe.

The Difference: Unlike the intimate Park Hyatt, the “Grand” brand brings bustling energy, versatile spaces, and large-scale luxury.

What This Means for Travelers

The arrival of the Grand Hyatt offers a different flavor of luxury compared to the recently opened Park Hyatt. Generally speaking, the “Grand” brand tends to focus on spectacular, large-scale experiences—think versatile meeting spaces, multiple distinct dining options, and a bustling atmosphere that caters to both leisure and business travelers.

With the recent hotel openings we’ve seen over the last year, the inventory for high-end rooms in Cabo is better than ever. This competition is great news for you, the traveler, as resorts vie to offer the best amenities, service, and culinary experiences to win your loyalty.

Authorities Confirm Los Cabos Tourists Must Pay Separate Tax In 2026 And Is Paid Separately

We at The Cabo Sun will be keeping a close eye on construction updates and will let you know as soon as reservations open up for late 2026.

Until then, it looks like it’s going to be another exciting year for Los Cabos.
