Stepping out of the airport in Los Cabos right now, it honestly feels like every direction you look there’s either a shiny new resort sign or a crane on the horizon.
2024 and 2025 have completely reshaped where travelers stay here – not just with more rooms, but with wildly different styles of luxury. And as we at The Cabo Sun have been tracking all year, there’s no longer “one best hotel in Cabo”… there’s a best for your specific travel personality.
This guide walks you through all of Los Cabos’ newest openings, what they’re really like on the ground, and which one is actually perfect for your next trip.

The Headline Newcomer: Park Hyatt Los Cabos At Cabo Del Sol
Let’s start with the name you’ve probably seen all over social media: Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol.
After years of delays, Hyatt’s ultra-lux flagship finally opened in December 2025 inside the upscale Cabo del Sol community on the Tourist Corridor.
What you’re getting here:
- Around 160+ rooms and suites, many with private plunge pools and big Sea of Cortez views.
- A huge wellness complex (think serious destination spa energy, not just a couple of treatment rooms).
- Beachfront pools and a protected cove where the water is often calmer than the open Pacific – but still very much “swim with caution,” not “let the kids run wild in the surf.”
The catch? As we outlined in our deep dive on the opening, Park Hyatt is still in that soft-opening phase, with some construction and fine-tuning ongoing around the residences. Early guests are getting sky-high staff attention, but also the occasional reminder that this is a brand-new build.
For points collectors, status chasers, and travelers who love being at the hotel everyone is talking about, this is the obvious new “it” address on the Corridor.

The Wild Card: La Valise Los Cabos On The East Cape
On the total opposite end of the spectrum is La Valise Los Cabos, a 10-room, fully off-grid hideaway on the East Cape that feels more like an art-filled private hacienda than a typical resort. (Hospitality Net)
Key things to know:
- It’s solar powered, intentionally low-impact, and famously has no air conditioning – comfort comes from smart design, cross-breezes, and the Sea of Cortez.
- Every suite faces the water, and the surrounding coastline is far calmer and more swimmable than most beaches near Cabo San Lucas.
- Getting there usually means about an hour’s drive from the airport, with some dirt-road sections.
We recently walked readers through why La Valise might be Los Cabos’ most unique boutique hotel, especially for art lovers and repeat visitors who’ve “done” the main resort strip already.

The 2024 Cohort That Now Feels “New But Dialed-In”
A few other properties technically opened in 2024, but in 2025/early 2026 they’re finally through the growing pains and worth thinking of as part of Cabo’s “new era”:
- Four Seasons Resort and Residences Cabo San Lucas at Cabo del Sol – Also in Cabo del Sol, but designed as a Riviera-style village with plazas, lanes, family pools, and a big kids’ offering. (Four Seasons Press Room)
- Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos – A 79-suite adults-only, ultra-lux all-inclusive next to the main Grand Velas. It’s become famous for Michelin-level dining access and over-the-top touches like Dyson hair tools and huge suites.
- Kimpton Mas Olas Resort & Spa (Todos Santos area) – A rebirth of the former Rancho Pescadero as a wellness-forward, garden-and-surf retreat just north of Cabo in the Todos Santos region, with 100+ rooms and villas, multiple pools, and a serious spa.
- Tropicana Los Cabos (Tapestry Collection by Hilton) – A 70-room historic hotel in the heart of San José del Cabo, transformed into a boutique Hilton property steps from Plaza Mijares and the Art Walk rather than the beach.
If Park Hyatt and La Valise are the headliners, these four are the “quietly excellent” newish options that have already had time to settle into a groove.

Which New Hotel Is Perfect For You?
We asked one of our staffers who’s been a Cabo fanatic for many many years how they were feeling about the hotel scene these days, and they said, “Picking a hotel here now feels like picking a whole version of Cabo, not just a bed.”
We couldn’t agree more. Here’s how we’d match the newest inventory to different travel styles:
You want status, buzz, and big-brand polish → Park Hyatt Los Cabos
You like being where the action is, care about spa and dining as much as the room, and don’t mind a little “new-resort weirdness” while the team irons out the last wrinkles. That’s classic Park Hyatt right now – glamorous, hyped, and still evolving.
You want the best high-end all-inclusive → Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos
If your dream is to unpack once, sign nothing, drink top-shelf, and eat food that would be a splurge even at non–all-inclusive resorts, this is your spot. Our own review found the experience so elevated it feels more like a tiny luxury hotel that just happens to include everything.
You want to completely unplug and feel far away → La Valise Los Cabos
You’re okay with dirt roads, spotty cell service, and sleeping to the sound of waves instead of AC. You get excited about hand-carved furniture, desert wildlife, and communal dinners. That’s La Valise to a T – and it pairs perfectly with a few “re-entry” nights back on the Corridor.
You’re a family or multigenerational group → Four Seasons Cabo San Lucas at Cabo del Sol
Here you get the Corridor location, Four Seasons kids’ programming, and villa-style accommodations that work for grandparents, parents, and teens under one roof. It’s also had more time open than Park Hyatt, so the vibe is less “beta test” and more “settled luxury.”

You want boho, wellness, and cooler temps → Kimpton Mas Olas (Todos Santos)
If your ideal Los Cabos trip includes sunrise yoga, farm-to-table dinners, and surfing or long walks on wide Pacific beaches (with non-swimmable waves), the Todos Santos area and Mas Olas are a very different flavor of “Cabo.”
You care more about culture than beach time → Tropicana Los Cabos
You want to walk to the Thursday Art Walk, linger in wine bars, and be in the middle of San José del Cabo’s historic core. You don’t need a resort campus – you want an atmospheric base with a pool and great food, and you’re happy to Uber to the beach when you want sand.
