Everybody has a different idea of what a vacation is supposed to be.  Some prefer an endless party, constant activity, and making new friends while on vacation, and when visiting Los Cabos, you can certainly do all of that.

Others prefer a more laid-back, quiet vacation and would rather keep to themselves.  For those vacationers, we’re providing a list of 6 tips for avoiding the crowds in Los Cabos if you’re visiting during the high season.

Book Activities In Advance

Websites like Viator offer tours for all different kinds of activities that you can purchase right online.  Once you make your purchase, you’ll be able to simply arrange for hotel pickup or book your own transportation and won’t have to wait in line for tickets.  There is also a chance you’ll save some money by booking activities in advance as well.

Make Restaurant Reservations

Not all restaurants in Los Cabos take reservations, but if they do, that’s a good indicator that it may be best to make one.  This is even a good idea if you want to visit the more popular restaurants at your all-inclusive resort because those establishments can get busy too.  Some restaurants still require reservations to be made by phone in Los Cabos, but many offer the option of reserving on OpenTable.

Visit A Less Popular Beach

If you’ve been to Los Cabos, you already know, and if it’s your first time, you will quickly find out that Medano is the most popular beach in Los Cabos.  It’s located in the busiest area of Cabo San Lucas and is one of the few swimmable beaches in the area.  For a more laid-back beach experience, you can go to Chileno Beach, a swimmable beach along the tourist corridor that is a little less crowded.

Avoid Tourist Hotspots

There are spots in Los Cabos that tourists gravitate to that have become hotspots that are almost always filled with people.  Places like Cabo Wabo, Puerto Paraiso Mall, Mango Deck Restaurant, Señor Frog’s, and El Squid Roe all fall into that category.  If you absolutely must go to these places, try to go at an odd time when there are typically fewer tourists, like after lunchtime and before dinner time.

Book A Hotel Along The Tourist Corridor

Cabo San Lucas is the busiest part of Los Cabos, and although San Jose del Cabo might not be quite as busy, it’s still a vibrant tourist town.  Both places have many all-inclusive resorts to choose from, some right in the middle of the action while others sit a little apart from the busiest areas.  But if you really want to escape the crowds, you can book a hotel along the Tourist Corridor that runs between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

Venture Beyond Los Cabos

If you really want to escape the tourist crowds, you can spend a day or two venturing beyond Los Cabos.  There are a number of incredible towns filled with culture, history, and nature within just two hours of Los Cabos.  Some, like Todos Santos and Miraflores, are barely an hour’s drive from Cabo San Lucas.  Todos Santos is particularly special because it is one of Mexico’s Magical Towns.
