The independent semi-private jet company JSX has announced it will be launching a new flight route to Los Cabos from both Los Angeles and Dallas this winter.
JSX, which was founded in 2016 in Dallas, lays claim to being the ‘world’s only 5-star hop-on jet service’. Its planes offer passengers the chance to fly on small 30-seat jets, which are similar in size to private jets but without the prohibitive cost.
Los Cabos Semi-Private Flights
Private charter flights, which usually cater to celebrities and the ultra-wealthy, can sometimes cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The new routes from LA and Dallas will begin in the middle of December and will connect the two cities to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. There will be three weekly flights launching from December 15th, from Los Angeles on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
In LAX, the flights will not depart from the main terminal gates but will operate out of Signature Flight Support at LAX, which is a private aviation operator which caters exclusively to private jets and charter planes.
From the company’s home base of Dallas, flights will also depart three times per week from December 16th from Dallas Love Field on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This will be the only regular international route from DAL.

The semi-private service offered by JSX promises a streamlined boarding process, expedited customs, and planeside baggage collection. Passengers will also be able to check-in at the respective airports just 40 minutes before departure time.
Although you would expect such a service to be almost as expensive as hiring a private jet, fees are surprisingly inexpensive. Introductory fares between either US city and Los Cabos begin at only $599 one-way.
Tickets for all journeys include two checked bags, onboard snacks, and beverages – which include alcoholic drinks and business-class legroom. JSX is also soon set to add high-speed internet on board all jets, using the SpaceX-designed Starlink platform, which passengers will be able to access at no extra cost.
JSX does not only offer flights to Cabo San Lucas but currently has many domestic services, mainly covering east and west coastal cities. For passengers traveling domestically, they will be able to take a small pet as part of their ticket, but it must be able to fit under their seat, although extra seats are available to purchase for large dogs.
The operator has not yet confirmed if this will be the case on its flights to Los Cabos, as there are different laws for Mexican customers regarding animals.
Earlier this year, a very similar service was launched by semi-private jet company Aero, which began flights to Los Cabos from LAX following the success of their Van Nuys to Los Cabos route.
Aero appears to differ only slightly from JSX in that passengers can arrive as little as 30 minutes before departure. However, their flights start from $1600 and go up to $2500 depending on the day you fly and other factors, so JSX may have the upper hand in terms of affordability.
The launch of these exclusive services could prove extremely popular for Americans traveling to Los Cabos. The destination is already seen as a luxury holiday spot in Mexico, and many visitors are keen to live the celebrity lifestyle and arrive in style.
It may also be that some famous faces decide this is a better option than shelling out thousands on entirely private charter planes in order to reach their favorite holiday destination.
Recently, a host of celebrities have been seen vacationing and celebrating in Los Cabos, such as George Clooney, who was spotted on a weekend getaway this week.
