A Los Cabos vacation isn’t complete without experiencing a bit of culture while you’re visiting, and a new event being launched this year provides the perfect opportunity to do so.
The event, which is a 15-day festival, will highlight food, tequila, and mezcal and will feature various cultural activities.
This new “Sea of Offerings” festival in Los Cabos invites tourists to explore Mexican cultural experiences while visiting the destination.
The Event
The “Sea of Offerings” festival, or “Mar de Ofrendas,” Gastronomy, Tequila, and Mezcal, will focus on Mexican traditions and history to give tourists a better understanding of Mexican culture.
The dates of the festival will be October 21 – November 4.
It will take place in the downtown area of Cabo San Lucas and include the participation of local businesses.
Festival Details
The “Mar de Ofrendas,” Gastronomy, Tequila, and Mezcal festival takes place right around the time of the Day of the Dead holiday that is celebrated throughout Mexico.
According to a Los Cabos business association member, Nora Alvarado Bello, businesses in the area are being asked to participate in the festival by decorating their building facades for the Day of the Dead.
Additionally, boat parades celebrating the holiday will occur during the same timeframe.
The Day Of The Dead Holiday In Mexico
The Day of the Dead holiday, or Dia de Los Muertos, is celebrated every year in Mexico on November 1st and 2nd, though festivities often take place on the days surrounding the holiday as well.
The holiday, rather than being a mournful two days, is a celebration and remembrance of friends and family who have passed on.
It involves paying respect to those loved ones who are no longer alive by visiting gravesites to leave gifts, and celebrating with friends and family.
Downtown Cabo San Lucas
Downtown Cabo San Lucas is a popular area for tourists visiting the destination.
It’s not far from the Cabo San Lucas marina, which is another tourist hotspot.
In this area you’ll find nightclubs, bars, restaurants, and shops, as well as several hotels.
Celebrating Mexican Food, Tequila, And Mezcal
Mexico is known for its delicious food that includes traditional staples from simple tacos to more complex dishes like mole sauce.
The country has also always been known for its dedication to tequila production and more recently mezcal has begun to grow more and more popular as well.
The food, tequila, and mezcal are all must-try items for those looking to experience real Mexican culture.
Where To Stay In Los Cabos To Be Close To The Festival
If you’ll be attending the “Mar de Ofrendas,” Gastronomy, Tequila, and Mezcal festival during your visit to Los Cabos you’ll probably want to stay in Cabo San Lucas.

Why October And November Is The Best Time To Visit Los Cabos
In addition to having this great festival to attend when visiting Los Cabos in October or November, there are some other benefits to visiting Los Cabos in the fall.
