Here’s a guide to Los Cabos’s best beaches and which ones are the cleanest in the destination, according to this new report.

The Beach Cleanliness Report

The summer season is well underway, and more locals and tourists are visiting the beaches in Mexico.

Because of this, nearly 300 beaches in the country were evaluated to determine which are the cleanest.

Following that evaluation, it was determined that Los Cabos has some of the cleanest beaches in the country.

How Beach Cleanliness Is Determined

Testing showed that 98 percent of all of the country’s beaches are safe for swimming and water activities.

Los Cabos topped that list with the most clean beaches in all of Mexico.

Blue Flag Beaches In Los Cabos

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Los Cabos has some of the cleanest beaches in the country because the destination has a total of 25 Blue Flag-certified beaches.

Many of Los Cabos’s most popular beaches are, in fact, Blue Flag certified.

Swimming At Los Cabos Beaches

If you’re planning a Los Cabos vacation, you may have heard that some of the destination’s beaches are not swimmable.

This is true because large waves and strong, unpredictable currents make swimming at some of the area’s beaches unsafe, but there are still plenty of swimmable beaches, too.

All of the popular beaches mentioned above are swimmable beaches, and there are even more that are a little bit lesser-known than those above.

Los Cabos Beach Safety

If you’re a first-time visitor to Los Cabos you may be wondering how you can tell the difference between the destination’s swimmable and unswimmable beaches, and it’s easier than you might think.

Los Cabos uses a beach flag warning system, with different color flags representing the conditions of the beach at any given time.

A black or red flag means that the beach is unsafe for swimming.

A yellow flag signals that you should be cautious when swimming.

A white flag means that dangerous marine life may be present, and a green flag means that a beach is safe for swimming.

In addition to looking for these flags when visiting Los Cabos beaches, you should also always swim where a lifeguard is present to ensure that you have a safe Los Cabos beach vacation.
