Todo Santos is a small town of less than 10,000 people that sits on the Pacific Coast about an hour north of Cabo San Lucas.
The town was given the honor of being called one of Mexico’s “Magic Towns” back in 2006, the 27th out of more than 100 to be given this distinction.
Magic Towns are towns in Mexico that have preserved their cultural heritage or history or have something unique to offer, like food, art, architecture, nature, or charm.
There are five reasons Los Cabos tourists are adding the nearby Magic Town of Todos Santos to their itinerary.
A Fascinating Artist Community
Todos Santos is known for its artist community, which is made up of artists of all different types.
Musicians, painters, and craftspeople have shops and galleries that line the main streets in town, which tourists love to explore.
Todos Santos also hosts an art festival in February every year, and next year a new art festival, the Tropic of Cancer Music & Arts Festival will take place for five days in February in the destination.
@passport2midlife Happy Travel Tuesday! Take me back to the magical artisan town of Todos Santos! This quant town is about 45 minutes from Los Cabos and last week we spent the day exploring this charming town with @Cabo Adventures and our knowledgeable guide Marcelino. Todos Santos is known for its beautiful architecture, artisan community and traditions. We explored this hidden gem and cultural highlights that most tourists miss, all while enjoying delicious Mexican snacks and learning about the local art, history, and traditions. Our adventure began with learning about the fascinating process of pearl farming. From there, we stopped to admire the town's iconic church and history. Next, we made a quick visit to the charming souvenir marketplace and snapped a photo in front of the legendary Hotel California. Then, we explored the local artisan stores that Todos Santos is known for and also enjoyed delicious fresh paletas, the sweet mango & spicy chamoy was a delicious combo. Then we made our way to a local family owned blanket factory to discover the intricate process of hand-woven blankets. Our last stop was Tierra Sagrada Ranch, where we met friendly camels and took some fun photos and then enjoyed an Al fresco Mexican lunch followed by an informative tequila tasting. Beautiful Colonial Architecture
Travelers who vacation in Los Cabos also like to visit Todos Santos to explore the beautiful colonial architecture in the town.
Mainly concentrated in the downtown area, along original cobblestone streets, you’ll find buildings that are still characterized by their colorfully painted facades.
There’s also a beautiful church that sits in the center of town that dates back to the early 1700s.

The Amazing Food Scene
One of the things that travelers who visit Todos Santos love about the town is the food scene.
You won’t find fast food or chain restaurants here, but rather restaurants that serve up dishes authentic to the region.
While you will find a few international restaurants, the bulk of what you’ll find is great authentic Mexican restaurants.

Captivating Nature
Not only is Todos Santos characterized by its backdrop of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains, but its fantastic beaches too.
Popular among surfers, Cerritos Beach and San Pedrito Beach may not be suitable for swimming but they provide some beautiful scenery.
You can also enjoy horseback riding, whale watching, and even visiting waterfalls when you take a trip to Todos Santos.

Authentic Mexican Character
Throughout Todos Santos you’ll find authentic Mexican character.
From the restaurants and art galleries that line the streets to the colonial architecture and small shops selling authentic Mexican goods, Todos Santos exudes authenticity.
It’s a much different experience than what you’ll find in the larger, busier vacation destinations in Mexico.

How To Get To Todos Santos From Los Cabos
If you want to be able to explore then it goes without saying that renting a car is the best option for getting to Todos Santos, and driving there is pretty simple.
But if you’re uncomfortable driving in another country you still have options.
You can take a bus to Todos Santos for less than $10 each way, which is the most affordable option, or a taxi for nearly $200 each way, or you can book one of many tours with roundtrip transportation, which starts at around $100.

Todos Santos Hotels
Just like you won’t find chain restaurants in Todos Santos, you won’t find massive resorts and chain hotels either, which is good because they would interfere with the charm.
Instead, you’ll find mostly smaller boutique hotels that definitely don’t lack in traditional Mexican hospitality.
If you visit Todos Santos and decide you need to spend more time there, rest assured you’ll have plenty of great options.

The TikTok videos in regard to Todos Santos are great, but why follow up with videos from young influencers? It's frustrating. Just think about placing several Todos Santos videos together or use YouTube to advertise. That way it's not such a limited viewing. Thank you for your consideration.
