The popularity of Los Cabos has, unfortunately, made it less of a budget vacation destination than it has been in the past.
That’s only expected to continue to increase as recently, the average resort room rate in Los Cabos has topped $500 per night.
However, tourists should not worry as there are slow periods during the year when a smart budget traveler can scoop up some great deals on a Los Cabos vacation.
That time is now.
Hotel Rate Specials
One of the biggest budget busters for visitors to Los Cabos recently has to be the average cost of a resort hotel room night.
While the average room rate is expected to continue to climb, there are times when there are deals for hotel rooms in what is known as the “shoulder season”.
During the shoulder season in Los Cabos, also known as the hot summer months, deals abound.
Some recent Los Cabos deals available on the web have included travel packages including outdoor amenities and free nights with the purchase of a minimum stay.
Travelers should hunt around not only on the typical travel booking websites but also visit the websites of specific hotels for special offers.
Airfare Deals
With fewer travelers visiting Los Cabos during the hot shoulder season, airlines recently have announced special deals for the summer season for Los Cabos flights.

So far, most of these are limited to the websites of the airlines themselves.
However, Los Cabos visitors can search for most of these great deals right on the Google Flights website and then purchase them direct from travel booking websites or directly from the airline.
The only exception is that Google Flights may not show special deals from some of the very low-priced discount airlines like Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Southwest Airlines. If those are part of the travel plan for a Los Cabos visitor, it is better to check those websites directly.
Low Overall Prices
Along with good deals on resort hotel rooms and flights to Los Cabos, visitors can often find some deals once they arrive in Los Cabos.
Many tour boat companies often will offer specials due to less demand for their services. That also goes for tour operators to popular sightseeing locations.
The only exception during the summer are the sportfishing boats. Those are in high demand during the summer because it is a popular sport during the season.
Some Los Cabos nightclubs will even waive cover charges and have plenty of drink specials to delight any budget-conscious traveler during the summer.
What This Means For Travelers
Visitors looking to enjoy some fun in the hot summer sunshine should find some good deals on rooms, flights, and amenities right now.
They should also be able to enjoy visiting the beach resort destination with a bit less crowds and traffic as well.
However, the head of the Baja California Sur Ministry of Tourism and Economy Maribel Collins Sánchez warned that this is a slight dip in visitation for the summer, and the numbers are already looking strong for the peak fall and winter travel seasons.
Visitor reservations are already approaching normal levels after June, and look like they will continue being strong into September through December of this year.
Travelers looking to visit soon should be fine, but they should expect a slight increase in crowds and traffic until mid-August.
Those looking to book flights, hotel rooms, and other amenities for the September through December time period should make their reservations now due to the anticipated demand for Los Cabos vacations towards the end of the year.
