Is It Worth Paying Extra To Have A Butler At Your Los Cabos Resort?

Share The Article

Is it worth splurging on a butler in Los Cabos? Short answer: for a lot of travelers, yes — but only if you actually use what comes with it.

We at The Cabo Sun have seen more resorts here roll out “personal host” or true butler teams for premium suites — think Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, and even high-end all-inclusives that now live in the $1,100–$1,700 a night “premium” tier.

Here’s how to tell if it’s worth paying extra.

What a Cabo butler actually does

At most luxury properties, you’re not getting one person chained to your room — you’re getting a small team (usually 2–3) covering you 24/7 through WhatsApp so someone is always on.

That’s how it worked on our recent stay at Garza Blanca Los Cabos: we messaged to ask if they could hold pool chairs, and by the time we walked down, spots were ready. When we realized we’d forgotten our playing cards, they tracked some down for us to borrow. In-room dining questions? Handled. It was very “don’t lift a finger” travel. That’s the ideal version.

A good Cabo butler will typically:

  • Pre-book pool or beach loungers (huge in high season)
  • Grab hard-to-get restaurant times
  • Coordinate in-room celebrations and turndown touches
  • Chase down extra pillows/kids’ items so you don’t call the desk
  • Be your “how do I…?” person for the whole resort

If that’s the kind of trip you want — show up and float through the day — the upgrade starts to make sense.

When it’s absolutely worth it

  1. You’re staying where butler is built in. Some Cabo suites, villas and casitas already include it (Waldorf Astoria Pedregal’s premium accommodations, villas in private enclaves, and the most luxe all-inclusives we’ve covered). In that case, you’re not “paying extra” — you’re just unlocking what the room category was designed to do.
  2. You’re coming during peak season/holidays. Chairs and dinner times get competitive — even at the fanciest places. Having someone quietly holding space for you is the difference between “Cabo is magic” and “why are we eating at 9:45?”
  3. You’re celebrating. Anniversaries, proposals, multigenerational tripslet them decorate, deliver, and coordinate so you’re not running around the resort sweating through your linen.

And remember, Cabo travelers are already debating if all-inclusives are “still worth it” in 2025 — adding butler-level service is one of the best ways to actually feel the upgrade you paid for.

When it’s probably not worth it

  • You’re off resort all day. If you’re doing whale watching, Todos Santos, golf, and San José art walks, you won’t use a 24/7 WhatsApp genie.
  • You’re already a power planner. If you booked dinners 30 days out and don’t care where you sit at the pool, you’re duplicating effort.
  • You’re choosing between butler and a better room view. In Cabo, views win. Always take the oceanfront.

In that case, look at the “free” upgrades we’ve written about — like cross-property privileges and all-inclusive restaurant hacks — to get more value without paying the butler premium.

How much extra are we talking?

Pricing is all over the place because some resorts bundle butler into the highest categories, and others offer it as part of a “VIP” or “signature” level. But here’s the math we see a lot: if you’re already in the $1,100–$1,700 a night zone, and the butler is included or it’s a modest jump to the next tier, the experience benefit outweighs the cost — especially for short 3–4 night Cabo breaks.

Our take

If your goal is “I don’t want to think on vacation,” pay it. It felt that way at Garza Blancawe messaged, they solved, we kept relaxing.

For readers chasing that highest level of Cabo service, this is one upgrade that actually shows up in your day, unlike some “exclusive” lounge access you barely use.
