It is really no surprise that celebrities would want to visit Los Cabos, with its beautiful beaches, long list of luxury all-inclusive resorts, and close proximity to the U.S. state of California. For these reasons we see Hollywood a-listers showing up in the Mexican vacation destination all the time, and the most recent famous visitor is American actress Selena Gomez. She was spotted in Los Cabos with a couple of friends ready to celebrate the New Year in the warm, sunny destination.
Selena Gomez’s Career
Selena Gomez began her career as a child actor and began to gain popularity when she starred in the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place. Following her success, she appeared in a number of movies over the years and launched a singing career as well. The 30-year-old actress most recently starred in the popular series Only Murders in the Building, of which she was also an executive producer.
Recent Accomplishments of Selena Gomez
Through her own production company, July Moon Productions, Selena Gomez has also been the executive producer of a number of other series and films. The series Selena + Chef on HBO Max is a cooking show that the young star is an executive producer of, as well as the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. Ms. Gomez was also invited to the White House earlier this year to discuss mental health with President Joe Biden.

A Busy Year of Travel
Now, for the second time this year, Selena Gomez was seen with the same two close friends celebrating a holiday together. Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham, who were recently married, reportedly were in Florida with Selena Gomez for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The group was then spotted at a private airport in Cabo San Lucas upon arriving in the much-loved Mexican vacation destination on December 28th.
Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo?
It is unclear where Selena Gomez and her friends will be staying while visiting Los Cabos. Los Cabos is actually the term used to refer to two different destinations, Cabos San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Both are frequented by celebrities and both have plenty of luxury resorts worthy of any a-lister, as well as the average tourist.
Los Cabos Resorts Popular Among Celebrities
Some of the most popular resorts for celebrities visiting Los Cabos are the One&Only Palmilla, Nobu Hotel, the Waldorf Astoria, Las Ventanas al Paraíso, Le Blanc Spa Resort, and Grand Fiesta Americana. Some of the celebrities spotted at these posh resorts include Miles Teller, Taraji P. Henson, Cole Sprouse, Lili Reinhart, Justin Bieber, Ryan Seacrest, and Teresa Giudice. There are a number of celebrities that have also owned property in Los Cabos, including George Clooney and Cindy Crawford, who lived right next door to each other.
Celebrities Out and About in Los Cabos
Celebrities can sometimes be seen out and about in Los Cabos as well. One of the popular spots for sightings is the Cabo Wabo Cantina, which is actually owned by a celebrity, American rockstar Sammy Hagar, who visits Cabo San Lucas at least once a year for his famous birthday bash held at the cantina. Other popular spots are the Spa at Las Ventanas, the Palomar Restaurant and Bar, and the El Dorado Golf and Beach Club, which is in an exclusive private community in San Jose del Cabo.
Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo each have something a little bit different to offer, but one thing they both have in common is beautiful weather pretty much year-round. They also both have gorgeous beaches and surrounding scenery that will take your breath away. It’s no wonder that this young celebrity and her friends want to bring in the new year in this much-loved Mexican vacation destination.
