Los Cabos is gearing up for one of the most spectacular and exclusive Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) celebrations the destination has ever seen. On November 1st, an immersive, multi-sensory experience called “Dance of the Spirits” will take place at the iconic Taboo beach club, fusing ancient mysticism, high fashion, and modern luxury right on the shores of Medano Beach.

The event, created by the renowned Rosa Negra Group, is more than just a party; it’s a massive cultural production designed to honor Mexican roots and share the vibrant traditions of Día de Muertos with visitors from around the world.

“What we want to do is emphasize Mexico’s roots and what the Day of the Dead represents for foreigners,” said David Forcada, Regional Director of Rosa Negra Group. “That’s what we’re trying to do: get them to know our roots… which is very colorful and has a big impact on people.”

Here at The Cabo Sun, we’re giving you an inside look at what promises to be one of the most unforgettable nights of the season.

The Spectacle: Fire, Music, and Mythology

The entire experience is designed as a narrative journey into the afterlife. The evening will begin with a striking ceremonial performance called “The Call of Xolotl,” an invocation of the Aztec god of fire and guardian of souls. This opening ritual, featuring fire, drums, and mythological figures, will symbolically open the spiritual portal for the night’s celebration.

The visual centerpiece of the event will be a Monumental Day of the Dead Altar and an imposing giant marigold skull, designed to be stunning, immersive selfie spots for guests. As the night progresses, the building’s architecture will be transformed into a living canvas, with an art mapping show projecting visuals that tell the story of the evening.

An Immersive Cultural Experience

This is not a simple Halloween party with plastic skeletons. “Dance of the Spirits” is a full-scale cultural immersion. Throughout the night, guests will be treated to ritually choreographed “happenings,” the haunting melodies of a spectral violinist, and a special makeup station to get a glamorous “glam-dead” Catrina look.

A major highlight of the evening will be the Catrinas Fashion Show, a haute couture reinterpretation of the iconic Catrina figure by local designer Diana Siqueiros. The show aims to fuse contemporary elegance with Mexican tradition, paying tribute to the beauty and cultural identity of the holiday.

The night will build into a vibrant celebration with live music from DJ Sistek performing from the center of the pool, all set against a backdrop of mystical lights, skull visuals, and fire effects. The evening will conclude with a massive fireworks display over the Sea of Cortez, a symbolic farewell to the summoned spirits.
