The Restoration of the Water Mirrors

As part of the renovation, the water mirrors were meticulously restored in direct alignment with the vision of the property’s original architect, Miguel Ángel Aragonés. However, the design team introduced a striking new contrasting color to the pools, elevating the aesthetic and reinforcing the profound sense of calm that defines the resort.

That natural, organic theme now extends directly into the Main Lobby. The entry experience has been completely transformed, trading some of its stark minimalism for the warm, natural textures and colors of Baja California Sur, creating a much more inviting “homecoming” atmosphere the moment you step off your airport shuttle.

The Evolution of the Iconic ‘Nido’

You cannot visit the Viceroy without dining in Nido (Spanish for “nest”). The stunning, woven-twig structure is the absolute centerpiece of the resort.

Instead of replacing it, the Viceroy team smartly preserved the intimacy and iconic architecture of the nest while completely overhauling its functionality. Nido has been reimagined as a dynamic, all-day dining experience. The interior has been expanded, increasing seating from 54 to 80 guests, and now features a brand-new integrated bar and a dedicated sushi counter.

The space will now transition seamlessly from a high-end breakfast buffet in the morning to a vibrant, sophisticated lounge for late-night drinks under the stars.

Brand New Culinary Concepts: Archaea and Nodo

To stay competitive in Cabo’s cutthroat ultra-luxury market, a resort has to constantly innovate its food and beverage programming. The Viceroy is reopening today with two massive new additions to its culinary lineup.

Archaea Speakeasy: The resort has introduced a brilliant new hidden venue conceived as the property’s most exclusive address after dark. Tucked away within the hotel’s sculptural, stark white architecture, Archaea is an intimate, dimly lit world built around rare spirits and inventive mixology. The menu is designed to unfold in real-time based on your preferences rather than reading off a standard printed list.

Nodo: Translating to “node” in Italian, this new concept is designed to be the culinary crossroads of the resort. Nodo operates as a culinary chameleon throughout the day. It opens in the morning serving fresh espresso and pastries, shifts into a market-style lunch spot with light Mediterranean fare in the afternoon, and finally transforms into a lively, full-service restaurant as the evening unfolds.
