The Extent Of The Damage

The Location of The Giggling Marlin

The Giggling Marlin is located in one of the most buzzing nightlife areas in all of Los Cabos.

Situated just steps from the marina in Cabo San Lucas, its location is in the perfect place to attract tourists visiting the area.

The location in the popular tourist area required the roads to be shut down, and nearby buildings were evacuated as well.

The Giggling Marlin’s History

The Giggling Marlin Bar & Grille has been an institution in Los Cabos for many years.

It opened in 1984 and was the first bar to be located in Cabo San Lucas’s marina area.

It quickly grew in popularity and has maintained that popularity for decades.

This is not the first fire to affect the beloved bar.

Early in its history, a fire broke out as well at a time when no fire department existed.

Some say that that fire is what actually led to the formation of a fire department in the destination.

Why The Bar Is So Iconic

In addition to being a popular hangout for both locals and tourists for decades, there are a few other things that have made The Giggling Marlin the iconic establishment that it has been over all of these years.

It’s recognized by so many due to its giant marlin statue that sits out front sipping on a beer bottle, and its spot where customers could hang from to guzzle down their shots of choice.

Additionally, the bar itself is known for its huge drinks.

The Future Of The Giggling Marlin

While the predictions are that the fire has caused a total loss, final reports are still to come, but at the very least, extensive renovations would need to be done before The Giggling Marlin could operate again.

It’s more likely that the owners would find a new location.

Many fans have expressed their hopes on social media that the famed bar and grill will come back better than ever.

Other Iconic Los Cabos Bars

The Giggling Marlin has been the best of the best in Los Cabos and was at the forefront of the creation of a world-famous nightlife.

Many super-popular bars and clubs followed in its footsteps and became icons of Los Cabos.

Places like El Squid Roe, Cabo Wabo Cantina, Bar Esquina, and the Jungle Bar all have the same kind of fun spirit that The Giggling Marlin was known for.

A visit to one of these is a great way to remember why Los Cabos is known for its nightlife.
